Meeting High Expectations
Establishing an IT infrastructure for a company is a difficult task. When Axis Clinicals needed a consultant that delivers results, they turned to Judith Solution’s to give them a blueprint for success. That blueprint included delivering lower process costs, align business needs with IT capabilities, and lower cost total for ownership.
In June 2014, Judith began to design concepts around an aggressive IT strategy that would put Axis Clinicals at the forefront of the industry. Experts at Judith first analyzed each facet of the company, defined services that would be needed to automate the process, and then connected these to integration platforms and applications. An example is the installation of the Warton LIMs server, communications, and video conferencing solutions.
The first challenge was to set up a private cloud network that would provide a high level of security with access restriction. This meant the private cloud network would only be accessible by members of Axis Clinicals rather than the general public. With an information environment that changes minute-by-minute, it was important that Axis Clinicals have access to their corporate network from anywhere in the world.

Simplification Meets Standardization
Another key challenge was setting up a communications network that would meet the business needs of a growing company, optimize business performance, while implementing only a single, integrated solution. “Axis is a growing company and their current needs are quite extensive. My job was to evaluate their needs, help them develop the right solution, and then tailor the solution to their unique situation,” David explained. “Developing an IT platform from scratch meant sitting in Axis Clinicals meetings so that I could provide real time feedback on what was realistic and what was not.”
After an initial round of meetings it was decided that Avaya communications manager would suit their needs perfectly. “Axis employees, at any given moment, are video-conferencing, using collaborative applications or conducting business on the go. It was important for us to have Judith Solutions come in and provide us with a solution that was first consistent; second, had configurable redundancies and lastly was designed for IT personnel and employees,” said an Axis manager. “When you are developing infrastructure, you need a partner like Judith Solutions. They know how to take your vision from thoughts on a piece of paper and turn them into real-life solutions. We couldn’t have been happier.”
The next step was to set-up the TrialOne operating system for early research. The web-based platform was the perfect solution to import, export, and report new data. “They picked the right software to fit our needs and that led us to allow Judith Solutions to take the lead on other projects we were working on… for example… handling our outsourcing needs in both India and the United States. They showed us they could handle everything we threw at and them and more. I don’t think the project would’ve turned out the way it did without them.”

“Soon we will begin installing a state-of-the-art virtual desktop interface, replacing the company wide Microsoft XP desktops Axis used for nearly a decade. This will give Axis employees, who work all over the globe in places such as India, Mexico, and the United States, the ability to work from anywhere in the world instead of having all of their information stored in one place, on one local desktop. The new cloud technology we are introducing can be deployed on nearly any device with the flexibility to run Windows, Linux or Oracle Solaris. This new interface will provide a lighter workload for IT, there is more security and upgrades to the system are quite simple. Our experts will also be with them every step of the way, making enhancements here… or integrations there,” David said. “We have tight connections with many product management groups and IT contractors. If we run into any serious problems or challenges, we can get help from a professional in that area of expertise.
